Memory Policy

Verolex uses memory only to support legal-employment work. Memory is optional, consent-based, and user-controlled.

Owner: Verolex Governance (VSS) • Last Updated: April 5, 2026

Summary

  • Memory is optional. You can use Verolex with memory off.
  • Session memory supports coherence during the current exchange and ends when the exchange ends.
  • Persistent memory is enabled only with your explicit consent and remains until paused or deleted.
  • You control what is remembered, paused, forgotten, or deleted where supported by the tool and your access.

Session vs. Persistent

Feature Session Memory Persistent Memory
Duration Current exchange only Across visits until paused or deleted
Consent Implicit for the live exchange Explicit consent required
Use Coherence and continuity within the exchange Continuity across visits, improved routing, and reuse of stored materials
Control Ends automatically when the exchange ends Managed by you through dashboard controls and deletion requests

What “across visits” and “across VCs” means

Across visits means within your Verolex account after you consent to persistent memory.

Across Virtual Communicators (VCs) means only among VCs governed by the same VSS memory scope for your account. Persistent memory is not public, not cross-user, and not automatically shared with unrelated tools.

If you are not logged in, Verolex limits what it will retain. VSS may ask you to continue in a secure, signed-in context before you share sensitive details.

Your controls: Pause / Forget / Delete

You control what the system remembers across sessions, including preferences, goals, and uploaded documents, and what it forgets.

  • Pause: temporarily remove an item from active AI use.
  • Forget: detach an item from AI memory without implying continued recall.
  • Delete: permanently remove the record where supported by the tool and your access.

Tools still work when memory is off. The difference is continuity across visits.

Uploads and memory

Uploads can be used for two distinct purposes:

  • Intake submissions for operational workflows, such as forms for staff review.
  • Memory uploads for user-controlled materials intended for reuse across visits, only with consent and access.

If you are unsure which upload path you are using, ask VSS. VSS will route you to the correct tool and confirm your consent posture.

Limits

  • Verolex supports legal employment decisions, not legal advice.
  • Some third-party embeds may not fully match these controls.
  • Persistent memory requires explicit consent and may depend on account access options.
